Hello, I am Dr. Lecturer. Clinical Psychologist Gizem Akcan. In 2011, I graduated from METU Department of Psychology as an Honor Student. I received TUBITAK Outstanding Achievement Scholarship during my undergraduate, graduate and doctoral education due to the degree I received in the university entrance exam. At the same time, I completed my minor in Entrepreneurship program at METU Department of Business Administration. I participated in the Erasmus program at the Department of Psychology at Groningen University in the Netherlands for 6 months. Then, I graduated from Istanbul Arel University Psychology Master's Program with Thesis in 2013. Afterwards, I graduated from Istanbul Arel University Clinical Psychology Doctorate Program in 2017. I have articles written in Turkish and English languages published in national and international indexed journals, poster and oral presentations and panels presented in domestic and international congresses. I received training and supervision in Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Panic Disorder, Depression, Family and Couple Therapy, Play Therapy and Lisrell Structural Equation Modeling. I also participated in the Study Group organized by Dr. Emel Stroup on Cognitive Therapy and Depression. I worked as an assistant to Dr. Emel Stroop, as a volunteer psychologist at Esra Erol Hope Houses Project, and as a Research Assistant at Istanbul Arel University Department of Psychology and Haliç University Department of Psychology. Currently, I am still working as a Lecturer at Bartın University Department of Psychology. I am currently working as a Dr. Lecturer.
